Steve C left this review about The Slug & Lettuce
This Slug and Lettuce is on George Street opposite a far superior Wetherspoons across the way. It is a large single room and open plan so I imagine it gets quite noisy during busy periods. The bar is located on the left hand wall with a mix of premium and standard draught products alongside a single hand pump that was drawing Bombardier. I decided to have half a Peroni which set me back £2.05 which is 70p more than over the road. Cocktails are advertised and I got the feeling that this place is geared towards weekend revellers and lunching shoppers. The food is the usual S&L fayre and the mains are priced around £8. There was some low background music playing yesterday (Tuesday) evening and the two plasma screens were showing S&L adverts. Out the front is some café style seating for people watching on a nice afternoon.
There is a late license until midnight from Thursday until Saturday, but I think that I’ll be steering clear of here in future.
