Bucking Fastard left this review about The Argyle

From the outside it looks uninviting ,in a modern development but with at least a roof terrace. However the interior is a bit more cosy, low ceiling, two small raised sections near both entrances,an L shaped bar and a descrete side section .However the corporate feel with three flatscreens all with BBC 24 News thankfully on mute, and pub grub menus in boxes did detract ,as did an illuminated advert display of the various non ale drinking options.I sat at a section of high tables but soon realised there is a very transient customer base.
At the bar 4 handpumps, two non descript ales "coming soon" so a choice of London Pride or TT Landlord which to my surprise was decent NBSS 3.
Just not enough to stand out or justify another visit but better than the nearby Sir Christopher Hatton.

A pub that is less tacky inside than it looks from out, however the four cask beers available were pretty ordinary London Fayre,Doom Bar, Landlord, Pride and Tribute. I hadn't planned a visit here but being half an hour ahead of schedule and finding the pub open at 11.30 I looked in quietening natures call at the same time. It,s not a bad place but indestinguishable from a multitude of other London pubs with the same outlook, it's unlikely I will return anytime soon.

Dating from at least 1808, this was originally the site of the Leather Bottle, rebuilt as part of a modern block on Leather Lane, formerly the King of Diamonds (the Hatton Garden diamond trade and 2015’s vault heist are over the road), the current name arriving around 2012.
The interior is as described: split level, boarded or patterned tiled floor, shades of grey colour scheme, patterned wallpaper, dark wood tall furniture, bulkhead lamps, a box of sauce and menu on the table, eclectic framed prints, white Anaglypta ceiling and four pointless TVs showing nothing in particular, sound and subtitles off; a McDonald’s-style soundtrack completed the ensemble.
The ale front amounted to Landlord, Doom, Pride and Tribute, £2.70 a half, fine and served by a friendly barmaid.
This place was better than expected, but the neighbouring Sir Christopher Hatton is a similar format though better, but why would anyone come here with the CBC up the road – with its minimum of nine pumps?
