Steve C left this review about The Millstone

The Millstone is a traditional Holts pub that had two other customers in during a recent early Tuesday evening visit. One was watching some 90s police drama on the television and the other was nodding off at the bar. The woman running the bar was eating her dinner. Sky Sports is shown, horse racing was muted whilst some low background music competed with the retro cop show. The interior is L-shaped and carpeted throughout with split-level seating. The usual Holts keg was available alongside Bitter on one of the two hand pumps. I went for a pint of Crystal which was disappointing. Would obviously have a better atmosphere when busier, but I saw nothing here that would have me rushing back.

Run-of-the-mill Holts pub. Brown and cream décor alongside a decent raised area with banquette seating. Just their Bitter on cask which was in decent shape (NBSS 3). GBG’23 listed which might tell you something about Bolton.

A nice enough Holts pub. There are two entrances front and back. As its a Holts pub there was only Holts beers on on my visit, Bitter and Pale. Its a friendly enough place and worth an half hour or longer. Images of running horses were beaming from the tellies on my afternoon visit.
