A large hotel with a multi-roomed pub area, although most of the rooms were set for dining the main bar area was more of a drinking environment, this was a fairly small but cosy space with a low white ceiling with black oak beams, a few table and chairs scattered around along with some bar stools upon which a couple of locals were supping pints. Three handpumps adorned the counter with a choice of Doom Bar or Hogs Back TEA, the latter in fair condition at £3.70, despite a slightly extended wait for the barman to appear and then actually manage to pour the beer. A fairly pleasant place and not as exclusive as I thought it might have been before entering, but the beer didn't excite.

Visited about 1430 on August Bank holiday Monday, having visited RHS Wisley. The place was fairly busy but not crowded

This is also a hotel but does have full public access to bars & dining areas. On entering is one "public" type bar, basic furnishings, going through a low arched doorway, mind your head, it is low [duck or grouse as sign rightly says]you come to the "Saloon / Lounge" type bar, L shaped, with carpets and comfy benches as well as bar stools and normal chairs. Service was from this bar only on my visit

Greene King IPA plus Tea, but only IPA was on, run out of Tea, plus usual taps for lager, cider etc. The pint was fine, as was my companions coffee

Serves food, but it is IMO expensive, over £6 for a sarnie, but it is Surrey, and a hotel, so not unexpected really. Food not tried, but it looked good. You can see menu & prices on their web site linked below. Passing through the lounge area you get to what I think is main purpose of place, a very modern, large & clean restaurant area, there were few eating there, I imagine it would be a bit of a treat, it would be for me at the prices

There is a large garden for sitting out & having your pint whilst the kids play. Large car park, plus on street parking, free as far as I could tell

Toilets, accessed via restaurant area were modern, clean & spotless

Due to construction of the building a few hundred years ago they never catered for wheelchair users, so there are steps, both for lounge bar from public bar and toilet access from lounge bar area, and no ramps I could see.

I would return, but not make a special journey to do so, nothing wrong with place, but not really my cup of tea, especially as the Tea was unavailable
