As mentioned before, a typical pubco, cheap beer, cheap food kind of place, not really my kind of pub , three ales available ,London Pride , Doombar and Youngs Bitter,It was a hot day so my half a Stella was gratefully received at £1.75, had the beer selection been more adventurous it could have been a different story, but as it stands I don't intend to return.

This is a Stonegate pubco pub, and is fairly typical of the brand – black clad staff, varnished pine panelling everywhere, and the usual illustrated glossy menus on all the tables. The food is the standard, and popular, pub grub range. The there ales they had on were GKIPA, Young’s Bitter, and Ringwood Boondoggle. The latter is branded as ideal for lazy summer days, but I nevertheless went for it on a snowy March afternoon. And at £ 2.80 a pint not to be niffed at either.

This looks like a classic stand-alone inter-war pub. The interior has been completely re-modelled of course, but there several inter-connected drinking areas separated by the odd pillar, a bit of more modern glazed sceening, and vestiges of walls, one containing a see-through fireplace of the type so beloved of Ember Inns establishments. My favourite part of the pub was a quietish area on the right which had a few armchairs in it. I didn't see a dartboard, although it certainly had its fair share of fruit machines. The background music was being played at low volume.

This one is OK as far as basic pubco pubs go. I certainly don't think it's worth going far out of your way to find, but it was a welcome sight as a refuge from a blizzard in March! I've been in many worse pubs.

A nice solid looking building and inside has the feel of a proper pub. There are three interconnected rooms, with the bar in the main central area opposite the front entrance. Carpeted and comfortable with mainly traditional style seating although there is one high table with stools. Low level wood panelling, leaded windows, a couple of shelves contained a random collection of stuff such as jugs, bottles and so on. A few of the usual old photographs and a nice Bass mirror form much of the decoration. A high level TV was switched off. Friendly efficient service, two banks of three handpumps serving Pride and Young's Bitter, the other being turned around but clipped as Marston's EPA which I believe is one of their new "fastcask" beers. Keen prices, £1.99 for the untried EPA, £2.50 for Youngs and £2.65 for Pride.
The pub was busy and chatty on a Sunday afternoon with a few people finishing meals but most just drinking and talking. I found this to be a welcoming pub and one I'd happily drop into again.
There are a few outdoor tables to the front facing the A24, there is a car park to the rear so I'm not sure there is a beer garden as such.
