The right-hand side of the Museum was closed during a recent early midweek evening visit, so the locals could all be found in the vault bar to the left where darts was being shown on the television via Sky Sports. I noted a dartboard and that the background music was winning the battle over the darts commentary. The four hand pumps were drawing Bass, Landlord, Wainwright and GK New Trick’s Golden Ale, the latter being decent enough. Standard keg and Birra Moretti were also available from the friendly barperson. Worth the walk out of the centre.

A classic corner street local boozer indeed, and one that firmly falls into the category of a local place for local people if the fact that everyone entering whilst we were there knew everyone else in the pub (with the exception of the Pubs Galore Crawl of course...:-) )
We parked ourselves in the plainer Vaults room, mainly because this was the livelier of the two being home to the screens showing the second day of the World Cup footy. The pedestrian permanent offerings of CW Bombadier, Draught Bass and TT Landlord were added to with the equally pedestrian Wychwood Hobgoblin, but in some ways that ale choice is perfectly fitting into the character of this pub. The Museum makes a pleasant contrast to all the modern craft bars and micropubs that have opened in its vicinity over the last couple of years and I hope it can stay that way for many years to come.

ROB Camra left this review about The Museum

A very traditional corner pub just outside N-U-L centre. Two rooms with a central bar. Reasonably busy on our Friday afternoon visit. A couple of screens showing World Cup football in the front room. A real mix of clientele leaning towards the older end of the market. The beers are listed by BF below. The Bass was in good nick and Ms CAMRA wasn't too unhappy with her little bottle of red wine. A good solid local.
