This is a large estate pub with an emphasis on beer rather than food, which is good to see. The furnishing and decor are those of a drinking pub rather than a gastro pub. There are too many flat screen televisions, but it is possible to find a seat away from one. Prices are reasonable with AK at £2.70 and Coke at £1.30. When I went to buy another pint it was after 4 p.m., and 'happy hour' had started, so it was £2.30. It is a bit of a drive for us, and I am not sure what it is like on busy sessions, but we will return.

The Queens Head is a large pub that is midway between Upshire and Waltham Abbey.
The pub was quite smart inside and was in the McMullens country style, carpets and comfortable seating i quite like the way they do these pubs up.
As i have already said this is a McMullens tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of McMullens Country and this was a very nice drink the other beer was McMullens AK bitter.
I thought this was quite a nice pub.
