A proper old school boozer,it's quite small and very popular with the 4pm builders get together. The low ceiling adds atmosphere with the bar immediately ahead of the front door ,surrounded by bar stools which means a very high chance of blockers. To the right of the interior is an unkempt section with a single table.Immediately to the left of the front door there is a darts throw, and a small seating area slightly elevated which allows you access (avoiding blockers) to a quieter area leading to french windows and a patio style beer garden.A juke box was churning out some ballards, the fruit machine blinked away and there was lively discussion around the bar stools.
At the bar there are 3 handpumps with two working on my trip dispensing Adnams Southwold Bitter and Longmans American Pale Ale (ok condition but not the greatest APA).Kegs were mainstream but very popular with the locals.
I found many pubs in Waltham Cross far less busy than The Queens,so it serves a purpose and is a lively place to drink.

The Queens Arms is a small pub that is in the middle of Waltham Abbey.
The pub was signed Gibbs Mew outside so this was about the time when this small Wiltshire brewery was running 100s of pubs but not supplying them with any of their beers.
Once inside this was a very basic pub and it seemed a friendly enough place to have a drink in,ther was only one real ale on the bar this was Old Speckled Hen and this was ok but a bit too strong for my taste.
