Situated in the shadow of Cleddau Bridge and a 5 minute walk downhill (and therefore a stiff walk uphill later) from it, this site was the former terminus for the defunct ferry. Its main selling point now is the garden with cracking views across the estuary and of the bridge (a part of which collapsed in the 70’s onto the same bank you’re sat on, which gives pause for thought). Inside is a dark blue interior over two rooms with some seafaring knick-knacks and an interesting nautical bar upper. Food is the name of game these days though getting a pint isn’t a problem and they actually seemed quite pleased that I was doing just that. An unbranded Felinfoel house with two of their beers available. I wasn’t expecting much but was genuinely surprised by the quality that both the IPA (NBSS 4) and Double Dragon (4) exhibited. We popped back later for some food which was pretty good (though the Egon Ronay plaque outside dating from the mid-90’s is an odd one!). Kudos to the manageress for keeping a handle on things when clearly understaffed. Worth the short detour for the excellent beer and views. 7.5

This pub is essentially unchanged since Steve's visit some eight years ago. As I was in at Sunday lunchtime all the tables, apart from one just in front of the bar counter as you enter, were laid for diners. While my chum and I enjoyed a relaxing pint sitting at the sole table not laid for diners loads of customers came in for their Sunday lunch. It looked like good value too - at least by London standards - with a main course Sunday lunch at £8.95, and £12.95 for two courses. There were a couple of ales on - the ubiquitous (in Pembroke anyway) Felinfoel pair of Double Dragon (£3.40 a pint) and IPA. It wasn't quite nice enough to sit outside when I visited, but on a nice day it must be lovely sitting in the patio area with excellent views of Milford Haven.

There's still all manner of maritime memorabilia about the place, including such things as model ships and a ship's wheel. Looking at a photo on here from 2004, it doesn't look to have changed since then, which is a very good thing. This is a very comfortable and homely pub, and I would be delighted to visit again if the opportunity comes my way.

This pub is quite hard to find, as it is hidden down by the old Pembroke foot ferry virtually underneath the Cleddau bridge, but look for the sign on the roundabout at the southern entrance to the bridge and you will be guided to it.
And it is worth searching out, as it’s a decent traditional local pub with good beer, good food and an outside patio seating area with great views over the estuary.
Internally it’s a two roomed pub, with the bar area to the front as you come in with seating beyond the bar and then there is a separate dining room section at the back. The walls are decorated with plenty of memorabilia associated with the Pembroke docks, including information on the Sunderland flying boats that flew from the Dock and a collection of HMS ship names associated with the docks adorn the top of the bar. The food menu is extensive from sandwiches to mains specialising on local seafood and fish. We only had the sandwiches but these were very good and made with homemade bread.
Its a Felinfoel house and Best and Double Dragon were on and both were well kept.
