Fairly large pub that is a little rough around the edges. Friendly service but nothing interesting on the beer front. Definitely one for the locals - the locals I spoke to were worse for wear and I didn't feel very comfortable.

This is a detached pub, with rear garden area. While it is a 60/70s styled pub, it may take its name from the fact that it stands near enough on the site of the Yardley Stud Farm (1880s). The pub is in plain brick, with a steep pitched roof that has dormer windows. As Danny says, the interior is a lot bigger than you think, generally an L-shape, with pool and a couple of dart boards to one side. The décor is white and brown, with some orange. The walls have old photos of the area, some art and some photo montages of locals on. A model of an American 'Iron Horse' train is parked in one corner. The TV had sport on and the radio was on in the background. The service was friendly enough and a few locals were in. The Halloween decorations were also up. Beer; no real ale, just the usual keg stuff with a decent enough M&B MILD. Happy enough to visit for the first time in 25 years.

Has the look of a down trodden 70's estate pub from the outside & is located in the estate back streets of Lea Hall/Stechford.

Inside its larger than you would imagine, an L-shaped room around the bar and is actually nicer than I thought it would be - light, carpeted & light wood tables and chairs set sensibly around. Wood shack panalled walls painted white or orange. Some of the seating is in need of a tidy up. There is a pool table to one side and Sky TV in another by the entrance, and a garden at the rear. At the far end is a large model iron horse - an American steam train.

Overall it seems a nice enough place, with pleasent, friendly service, though it was a quiet time on my early evening visit.
