This Marston pub is another one that was once a Burtonwood house. There are doors to the left and right as you enter. I went in the left room which sounded quieter. This is a long narrow carpeted room with a huge TV at the far end which was turned off until I was about to leave. The opposite bar is a larger long narrow room.
I noticed three hand pumps in the other bar which had two unused. The barman told me they had Old Empire. I went for a pint of it (£3.45) and was bought back a pint of murk which smelled sour. I told the young barman that it was off after which he went away and returned saying he had just tasted it and it was OK. I pointed out to him that it was cloudy as hell and rank when he agreed to change it for a pint of keg Banks's Mild.
I wouldn't return as this is yet another former Burtonwood outlet that Marston have managed to ruin.

A bit expensive for what you're getting but pleasant enough. Two roomed with the larger lounge to the right. No real ale on on my visits for some reason. Pretty much traditional inside. Small outside seating area out back with some people clogging up their lungs.

small cozy pub and friendly locals and staff, enjoyed a couple of pints of strongbow in there only last week, very close to town centrer highly recommended
