Hard-to-find hotel bar, especially in the dark during a cold, howling gale. Was worth it as it had all the Valhalla beers in the fridge, a rarity as the brewery is/was in brewing limbo. Outside of guests I don't think they get many visitors and I was treated with a friendly fascination when it became clear that I wasn’t a guest, not a local and was actually trying to tick off all the town’s bars. Décor-wise it was like 1990 in here, probably an expensive bar refurb back then and it has been kept scrupulously clean ever since. Light wood fittings, blue shades wallpapering and multiple wall wood dividers. A highlight was the two Art Nouveau style lamps acting as an entrance to the rear raised area. Shazammed one of the background tracks to find out, ironically enough, it was Theme From A Summer Place by Percy Faith. As a childhood reminisce via the ambience, I rather enjoyed this one in the context of Lerwick.
