The Plockton Inn was my favourite pub of the day in the Highlands. I could only see one real ale and it helped that this was the best kept of all of the Scottish beers I tried throughout the day. This particular beer was the locally brewed Plockton Yarrowale.
There is a public bar and a separate dining room. For our late Saturday afternoon visit, the only customers were drinkers in the public bar which made this place feel much more like a pub than other local drinking/dining establishments. Accommodation is also available, in a building across the street.
With friendly staff, I quite enjoyed our visit here.

Some of the signage now says Plockton Inn & Seafood Restaurant, but otherwise the place seems little changed since my last review. The southern beer was now Timothy Taylor Landlord, so I went for the local Plockton Serendipity. I'd got here a little before the evening rush for food - every table was reserved - so it was quite pleasant, but there's no escaping the fact that this is a hotel and restaurant first, and a bar third.

Indications outside the building are that the restaurant is to the left and the bar to the right, but in fact the room labelled bar also has tables that are largely set up for dining, leaving very little seating for drinkers. The area in front of the bar counter was occupied by locals having a post-work pint or two and watching tennis on the TV. Two hand pumps on the bar serving Fullers London Pride (!) and Plockton Starboard, the latter being a very pale modern-style lager-ish brew, presumably aimed at the local palate, since the locals were all drinking lager. My opinion of this, and the other Plockton pub, would have been higher if I could have had the choice of a malty Scottish ale.
