Lovely out the way pub just 10 minutes approximately from Larkhall station. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Sells Guinness, cider, Belhaven Best, Carling & Tennents lagers and Innis & Gunn lager beer. Had 2 pints of Innis & Gunn at £4.90 a pint. Expensive but well worth it

One of Scotland's oldest pubs (1715) the Applebank is a real gem (and winner of the independent Pub of the year in Scotland) Situated 8 mins walk from Larkhall Rail Station in the lovely Millheugh area of the town. The pub sits alongside the River Avon and is stunning especially in the summer. A traditional looking bar (similar to a stately house) with thick stones walls slate floors etc . As you enter the small but well stocked bar is on the far side, the main area is tastefully decorated with exposed brick walls, old and new/ modern paintings on the walls etc. Seating is ample with dark green leather sofas , large wooden coffee tables etc. At the back of the bar is the restaurant area I have never eaten there but hear food is very goo. There isn't a massive selection of beers (and no real ales) but a good selection of spirits. Bar staff are really nice and at the weekend they have live music (in the times I have been in the music has been good and mellow) Prices are the norm for Larkhall and Lanarkshire about £3 a Gin and mixeR, £3 for a pint etc, The front of the pub has outside seating looking out onto the Avon. parking is limited (but near the train station so no need to take the car) there is also disabled access to the bar. Oh and it has a ghost - another thing the walls are so thick you lose your phone signal - A must visit excellent bar the new management have done very well. It is
Worth visiting the website to see what they have to offer
