The Gun Lodge is one of only two pubs remaining in Ardersier and is more of a restaurant and hotel than a traditional pub. It is however possible to go in for just a drink. The menu is good and the place seems popular with the locals wishing to eat out - the fact that it is the only option in the village also helps. I can recommend the Balmoral Chicken, a chicken breast stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon. There was a folk weekend going on whilst I was there, with the inevitable pipers. They have recently added a cask ale to their offering, the local Trade Winds, and from talking to the landlady it has been very popular and they are likely to keep it.
