David Ross left this review about Cricklewood Hotel

Advertised as a “Family Friendly Country Pub,” The Cricklewood looks the part from the outside, being a small country house type building set back from the main road. The interior has changed completely since my last visit, which was admittedly over 15 years ago. The former traditional country inn style public bar has been incorporated into a run of the mill modern lounge with sofa and armchair seating, piped music and big screen TVs. There are separate, smaller areas at each end of the main section, one an offshoot of the lounge and the other a restaurant, although food is served throughout. There is also a miniscule canopied beer garden, which could hold no more than about a dozen customers, and a heated outdoor smoking area. Two function suites are available for hire. The real ales which were served when I was last here have disappeared along with the old bar, but there is a good range of drinks available. This includes Guinness, Caledonia Best, Magner’s Golden Draught Cider, Tennent’s, Stella Artois, Estrella Damm and Schiehallion lagers, six malt whiskies, wines and cocktails. Prices, for both food and drink, are on the expensive side, with my, admittedly excellent, pint of Schiehallion costing £4.30. The clientele, consequently, consists mainly of the affluent inhabitants of this largely affluent village.
