Real Ale Ray left this review about Clockwork Beer Co

Large open plan Brewery tap layout with ply cladded walls, large bench tables, open plan kitchen and servery. The main bar was situated along the rear right hand wall and was quite long in length. I asked the friendly manageress why the pub was called "Clockwork" and she replied did you not see the big hanging clock as you entered. Disappointingly only two ales to choose from their four pumps. The choice was Stewart Brewing Ka Pai and Clockwork Oregon IPA, which is now brewed elsewhere. The Oregon was 5.5% and very malty in flavour, so we much preferred the Stewart beer. This was a very welcoming pub, staff were friendly and you could spend some time here.

David Ross left this review about The Clockwork Beer Company

This is a huge pub, incorporating its own micro-brewery, with a commensurately vast range of beers on offer. These are far too many to record or appreciate in the course of a brief visit on an overcrowded Friday evening. Given the nature of the premises, it was surprisingly inexpensive, with a pint of Tennent’s lager costing me a fairly normal price of £3.10. This is definitely somewhere to come back to when it’s quieter and I have more time, and money, to spend.

Roger Button left this review about The Clockwork Beer Company

For an area that boasts one of the world’s best known football stadiums, there are surprisingly few drinking holes around which makes the Clockwork Beer Company seem quite a valuable asset to have on its doorstep.

The exterior looks like a converted warehouse with the Brewery name prominently displayed under a shallow curved gable. The interior is quite modern and spacious with plain décor, subdued tones, bare pine floors and a raised carpeted dining section to the rear under a glazed pitched roof. A glazed section of wall provides a glimpse to some of the brewery apparatus and an open curved staircase leads to additional seating upstairs around an atrium. At the back is an attractive patio garden with a few benches.

There were 4 Clockwork Beers available on my visit, (Amber, Red, Hazy Days Ginger and Original Lager), a brace from TSA (Lomond Gold and Cable Tosser) and Caledonian (Marching Orders and Deuchars), Strathaven Summer Gold and Maclay Oat Malt Stout. The beers were all poured from taps rather than hand pumps and were very reasonably priced. I also had lunch here after a trip around nearby Hamden Park and the football museum and the food was very good, typical pub fayre priced around £6-£8 with a few specials deals at certain times.

Service was very efficient and friendly albeit the place was pretty quiet for a midweek lunchtime (as the photos I have submitted show) but I imagine that evenings would be quite lively with live bands on Saturdays, quizzes on Thursdays and Sky Sports shown in 3D. If there is an event on at the stadium then I would expect the place to be unbearingly busy but out of peak hours, it is certainly worth the 10 minute train journey from the City centre.
