You have got to visit a bar with this name, it refers to the Staffordshire china dogs beloved items on Scottish mantlepieces at one time. Yes it’s in a basement but actually with three rooms, counter to the left in the first one then a couple of small rooms off each side further back, the legend above tells us they are ‘The Study’ and ‘The Library’, it does student discount I believe. I didn’t think there’d be any cask but it does have a couple of pulls with beers from MoR, a 6.5 Wee Heavy and a 3.8 Heavy, there’s also a mix of the expected and unexpected on keg. I wasn’t expecting good things from the beer but it was fine, NBSS 2.5.

Basement bar with a main bar area,snug and another room at the back. 4 real ale taps (3 on during my visit). Live comedy advertised.
