This is a tiny corner local that is the Brewery Tap for the Cornish Crown brewery which I thought was one of the better Cornwall breweries. The bar room is tiny being little different in size to a micropub while the room at the rear has enough room for just two tables.
The four hand pumps on the bar had three from Cornish Crown, SPA, Porter & St Michaels plus VOG Decadence. I went for the SPA (£3.20) which was an excellent pint.
I liked this one and it's GBG 2016 listed.

A nice Victorian end terrace pub, with patio area and both in the GBG for its beer and home to the Crown Brewery. The pub is in white, with black paintwork and is somewhat plain excepting the large sash windows it boasts. The interior has a small front room and an even small back one. The front room is in white, with a red ceiling and wood floor. A large mirror dominates the room. The back room is a arty bistro dining area - there was nobody in. Obviously they do food, but we didn't eat. There was no TV that i saw and the background music was general and at a soft level. The service was really friendly and there were a few locals in, including the brewer. Beer; usual tap stuff with 4 hanpulls - Crown Mousehole and SPA were on, both well kept - the SPA especially so. Also, there were two guests, the pub having done a swap - these guests were from the Black Country Ales Brewery - talk about a busman's holiday! Anyhow, they had BFG and a decent Pig on the Wall MILD, so not complaining. A great little stop off - thoroughly enjoyed. Happy to go back anytime.

Called in just after lunchtime and it was quiet. Had Otter Ale and Bays Best and they were fine. The other beer on was Skinners Betty Stogs. The only thing that was offputting for me was the fishy smell. Presume the couple finishing their lunch must have had fish, but it was overpowering. Went into the back room to finish our drinks. Always call in when visiting Penzance. There are some tables outside the entrance by the road.

The above was in May 2010, and we went yesterday for a beer festival, and it was fantastic. Choice of beers from Cornish breweries including new ones over the last year and all in great condition. We enjoyed 3 beers new to us from their own Cornish Crown brewery - St Michaels Bitter, and from Frys Brewery - Blond Chough and Ruby Chough. Also had a few really good Blue Anchor Spingo Middle beers. Well done the Crown. £3 a pint and no rip off for half pints like we have found elsewhere this visit to Cornwall.
