In the case of both staff and clientelle, this is the most welcoming pub i've ever been to, bar none. The landlord owns, lives in and operates the Freebird. He puts his love and incredibly broad knowledge of real ales into the choices he makes of what reaches the pumps. He and his good lady wife are also out and out lifelong rockers, which means the Freebird is also the most real and down to earth Rock Music venue in Newcastle Under Lyme, maintaining a history and credibility that no other rock venue anywhere else in town can even come close to. If you love Real Ale and Rock Music, do yourself a favour a give it a try.

This's one stonkin awesome place ta go,great music fantastic pool table along with some totally rockin dj'swho are more than willing ta make ur night a most memorable one....you become more family than just barstaff n punters.....ur always welcomed with either by the man himself or the stonkinly gorgeous miss Marie.if ever you need a fantastic night out....great music brilliant folk, freebird house it is :)
