Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Kings Arms

Fine traditional pub in the centre of the small town but just out of sight from most 'pilgrims' walking or taking the boat out to St Michael's Mount and thus not too busy mid-afternoon (although I understood that they had done excellent business at lunchtime). Partly opened-out at some stage to leave two linked rooms; a compact bar to the right of the entrance and a seating / dining area of similar size to the left (both with tasteful semi-modern furniture and decor of the gastro-pub variety. Also has a good number of wooden benches out on the forecourt. As a St Austell house, the inevitable Tribute was thankfully supplemented by the rarer HSD (£4.10).

A lovely looking but small detached St Austell pub, with patio area. It is in a Georgian style and in white, with black paintwork. It has a hipped roof with a couple of dormer windows. There is a tidy black and white cornice, curved sash windows with black keystone lintels. The lower storey has a nice bay window and covered entrance. The interior has a nice L-shaped room, in white and beam and a red patterned carpet. Half of the room is given over to food tables, the other, a bar area. The walls had mixed photos on and there is a nice stone fireplace at one end, with a burner as a fire. There is no TV, that i saw, and the background music is soft and general. The service was fine and the clientele a few maturer people. I didn't try the food, so can't comment on that. Beer; usual tap stuff with St Austell Tribute and an OK at best HSD on handpull. I was a little disappointed in this place - the pub itself was great, the beer less so. It needs a little something.

This town centre pub (don't call Marazion a village – you'll upset the natives!) is quite attractive from the outside and pleasant enough inside with its beamed ceilings and cosy bay window seat but doesn't strike me as being particularly oozing with character. There are a few pics and brasses and the odd dangly jug but nothing to catch the eye. Not a big selection of ales (Tribute and HSD) and at £3.10 for the HSD, a bit wallet busting. There was no obvious food available although the landlord was interviewing a new chef so expect something new in the near future. There is some seating outside on a road busy with tourist traffic and I dare say that at peak times the place gets uncomfortably busy but to the pubs credit, it doesn't play the tourist game and still retains a local feel. It is a decent enough pub but for me just lacks anything that makes it stand out. One thing I will certainly endorse – the pasties over the road are among the finest ones I experienced but I'll save that for Pasties Galore!
