The Lansdown is a back street pub that i found hard to find.
Once inside there is a roughly oblong shaped room which is bare boarded, the bar is on the mid left side, there are normal tables and chairs and some bench seating, there was a TV to the rear left showing tennis.
There is a also a separate room to the left.
There were five real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Twisted Oak Fallen Tree, which went down well, the other real ales noted were GWB Moor Bitter,Bristol Beer Factory Fortitude,St Austell Proper Job and a beer from Cheddar Ales i failed to read my noted of.
Food was being served, but did not take over the pub.
I thought this was a pleasant pub to have a drink in.

Enjoyed our visit here as we found out from someone in the Gryphon that there was a beer festival, and what a great time we had. They had a good programme set up for the beers, and some were on sale at the bar, while the rest were on stillage in a marquee in the courtyard at the rear of the building along with a pig roast in the afternoon. Really enjoyed this friendly local bar.

A pleasant pub that’s a little off the beaten track but worth searching out, being only a few minutes walk from the heart of Clifton village. The main bar area is effectively a “U” shape with the bar counter in the middle, and can be approached directly from the front, or from the back via a short corridor.
There’s reclaimed wooden boards on the floor and a board detailing the pub’s philosophy such as sourcing local ingredients, etc. I didn’t check the food menu, but the dishes that were being dished up to some punters looked pretty good. There is also an upstairs function room which was in use by some group or other on a recent visit.
Beers on this occasion were Tribute, Gem, Old Hooky and Cheddar’s Totty Pot. There was a fifth pump for Great Western HPA but this appeared to have run out. Ciders were also well represented with Addlestones, Stowford Press, Thatcher’s Gold, Thatcher’s Heritage and Gaymer’s Pear.
Well worth a visit.
