A harbourside end terraced freehaouse pub and eatery with a couple of patio areas on two levels and is a GBG regular. It is a white painted stone building with blue paintwork. The main front porched entrance is actually blocked and access is obtained up some steps to the side.

The interior is spread over a couple of floors. The main bar room is on the ground floor, with an overspill and more foody area upstairs. The main bar room is an L-shaped room around the serving bar that faces what was the main entrance. The decor is exposed stone and French mustard painted stone walls, with a wood and beam ceiling. The place was adorned with local pictures, books and other fun ephemera. The small upstairs room has coffee walls, a white and beam ceiling and a red carpet floor. It has tables for dining and similar pictures on the walls as in the bar. They do food in this pub, but i didn't eat so can't comment, but what i saw seemed fine. There was no TV that i saw and the background music was general stuff at a decent level - but they do have live music nights - sadly which i missed. The service was functional, likely as it was rammed with what seemed like a mix of both drinkers and diners, all ages, holidaymakers and clearly locals.

Beer; usual tap stuff with St Austell Trelawny, Skinner's Betty Stoggs, Bays Gold and Bays Topsail on handpull, all were very good.

This is a great pub. It is a victim of its own success in the fact that it is quite small and was rammed on all three occasions that i visited (different times and different days), so i felt quite cramped. This means i can't stay too long as i am so miserable, i can't handle busy places too long. Visit it - all i can say really.

Nice, cosy, old pub but don't eat there. Undercooked food, small portions, expensive prices.
Regarding the comment below - I dont like my meat black, maybe you got lucky with the food. When we ate there there was more food being left than eaten. Just bcos your opinion is different to mine you do not have to be rude!

What a load of rubbish in the previous review. The food in this fantastic pub is superb. Undercooked my whatsit! If you like good high quality meat and fish cooked to perfection then this is the place for you. The ambience and the live music make this a must see place. The food is for people who understand good food not for those who think all meat should be black. Plus the real ale is fantastic. Keep going the Blue
