A nice simple little terraced St Austell pub, in white with black paintwork. It is in Georgian style and has nice sash windows and a neo-classic surround to the entrance. It appears to be named after the famous admiral, although i am unclear as to a connection with him to Helston. The interior is basically one long room that changes from a bar environment into a lounge setting. The decor is white painted stone, with wood floor, but in the loungey area there is some flowery wallpaper. There is a pool table in the bar area, along with a few TVs showing daytime TV. There are mirrirs and landscape pictures on the walls in the lounge bit. The music was general and at a decent level. The service was fine and the clientele mixed, but small. Beer; usual stuff with St Austell Trelawny and Tribute on handpull for £2.60 - the Trelawny was a decent pint. A solid enough place for a pint.
