Beautiful village - with this one of the most prominent buildings. Best to park out of town at the car park, rather than attempt to drive down.
GBG2024 New Entry. Super friendly bar man. Enter and a dining room on left and a beautiful snug on the right. Complete with real fire and loads of photos of locals and fishermen.
Beerwise - there was a first spotting this holiday of Betty Stoggs and Doom Bar (possibly one more Sharps). The Betty Stoggs wasn't that great but I think this may be down to the brewery takeover. Without prompting, I had quite the chat with the owner about beer quality, CAMRA mystery shoppers and even how long the beer lines are in here from the cellar.
Food was pricey but exceptional. Somehow, we managed to blow over £80 on lunch with only two drinks. This is a world record in our house, but we did enjoy the food and experience.
A fitting end to a fine week in the Lizard peninsula.

The is a detached stone cottage of a building that has been white rendered, with black sills on the sash windows The modern signage is a little out of keeping, but there is a nice front patio area. Also does accommodation. The interior has a couple of rooms, in white and beam, off the entrance corridor; the more foody area to the left and the serving bar and bar area to the right. There is a small back room, in white, that has a dart board too. There are a lot of sea and boat pictures - not a shock there then. The floor is wood. There is no TV and no music. They have a folk night on Tuesdays, which was great. The singers that appear on Fridays hadn't started by 10.45, so we went back to the cottge. Service was great and the clientele mixed - many holidaymakers of course. Beer; usual tap stuff with Doombar, Otter Bitter and Skinner's Betty Stoggs on handpull. The beer was generally decent, and it was nice to see an Otter beer - Doombar and Stoggs are of course prevalent in Cornwall.
