Much quieter than other pubs in Welshpool, this pub was in the Good Beer Guide as recently as 2023. My visit was still quite early on a Friday evening, but there the number of other customers was in single figures.
The music selection left a lot to be desired. One track sounded like Tom Jones, but was in Welsh and it was quickly followed by something from a Welsh male voice choir. Salopian Hop Twister & Three Tuns XXX was the real ale choice. The Hop Twister was quite enjoyable.

Locals bar with pub games and sport but real ales & not unfriendly, worth a try

I spent an afternoon in this pub saturday 21 march, had a great time, nice carling lager and good loud music coming from the juke box, the bar staff and customers very friendly and chatty, I will be calling in there again next time I visit this nice little town
