The Ship Inn is a decent looking pub.
The bar room is oblong shaped with the bar on the mid left side, the front area is carpeted and the rear bare boarded, there is a low ceiling.
There is a separate room to the rear right which is up some steps and a smaller room to the rear left.
The pub is a St Austell tied house, there were three real ales on the bar,we had a a drink of St Austell Proper Job which went down very well, the other St Austell beers were Cornish Best and Tribute.
A very pleasant pub to have a drink in.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Ship Inn

This is a wonderful irregular looking pub, restaurant and B&B in the heart of Fowey. It is claimed that the building dates to the late 16th century and the interior arrangement may not argue with that, although the frontage has some Georgian features as well. It has a front facing gable in cream and stone, with a neighbouring building, also in cream, with white pilasters.

The interior has three rooms. You enter a slightly irregular shaped the bar room, which is in white and wood panel with a red and beam ceiling and a mix of wood and carpeted floor. There is a stone fireplace and the walls are plastered with sea/boat and ship pictures and ephemera. There is a side dining room, which contains a long table, which is in white and wood panel and has general prints on the walls with a few bits of sea ephemera – I couldn’t see too much as the lights were out. They were also out in the main dining room, which is up a few steps. I could see that it was in white and wood panel, with beam ceiling and wood floor and that it was decorated with old prints on the walls and a row of stoneware pots etc. This room had smaller tables and a nice stained glass window which can be seen from the street. There was no TV that I saw and the music was general and at a decent level. The service was fine and there was a small mixed clientele – as it was a late visit.

Beer; usual tap stuff, with a selection of St Austell drinks on handpull; Proper Job, Tribute and a very good Trelawny.

A nice drinking area and a nice dining facility, but a clear distinction between them, so everyone feels welcome. Very much worth a visit.

Blackthorn _ left this review about The Ship Inn

This is a great cosy old pub. There are lots of nautical artefacts around the place as you might exepct, very friendly staff and a good range of decent pub grub. The downside is it seems a bit pricey (£6.75 for two pints).

Three St. Austell's beers on tap, plus Blackthorn and Cornish Rattler ciders.
