A small little cave with a pleasing hubbub and they’ve done well to disguise the modern interior; dark green walls, flagstone floor and a bit of exposed brick. There’s also a bijou room off left plus upstairs. Four cask, not shifting: my Tintagel Castle didn't quite do the job required of it (NBSS 2.5) so you can decide whether the GBG listing is justified. Still, it's a pleasant poke that’s worth a look-in for the Falmouth first-timer.

This is an excellent multi-room beer bar in the centre of town. Even without the happy hour 10% discount, the craft keg is pretty affordable (there's 8 to choose from). If that's not your thing, you've got 4 cask ales, mostly local, but featuring Asahi Hophead on one pump.

I settled into the snug with my pint of keg Firebrand IPA and congratulated myself on a fine finale to my pub visits in Falmouth.

Not normally open on a Monday, I'd called this place up the evening before to find out if they would be open on Easter Monday. The owner hadn't decided and said that he'd update Facebook and Instagram if he was opening.

No update ever occurred and sure enough we found it closed on the bank holiday. It sounds like the owner decided to go out for a few drinks himself on the Easter Monday. It had been a lovely sunny day with a couple of cruise ships providing extra business to the town. But perhaps the owner knows that they don't manage to get as far as this pub!

We arrived on a very wet Tuesday shortly after opening time at 3pm. A couple of other customers were sat in the main bar area, whilst a family of 4 followed shortly after us, having also been to the Verdant Seafood Bar. We'd watched as the father struggled to get a large pushchair down the steep steps into the previous bar.

In addition to the main bar area, this is a snug to the left-hand side of the entrance. Further seating and a smoking area can be found upstairs. The dark-coloured paint job inside matches the colours outside, which gives the place a fairly moody atmosphere. Nevertheless, it's nicely decorated inside and I quite liked this place.

3 real ales were on - Treen's Classic & Essential & Tintagel Harbour Special. There was also a real cider fetched from the cellar, but not promoted. When I asked about cider, the barmaid quoted all of the keg products before mentioning the Weston's Medium Dry Organic Cider right at the end.

I'm not sure when the pub morphed from the Masons Arms to the Moth & The Moon, but it is no longer owned by St Austell and I don't believe there are any TVs anymore. In fact, it's definitely worthy of a visit, if they decide to open.
