Tucked down Alma Terrace is The Wellington, a Sam smiths pub most people would not know about. It occupies two of the centre terraced houses and is much larger than it looks oon the outside with several different rooms, some with fires.
The beer is the usual Sam Smiths range at their usual competitive prices, Old brewery Bitter still just £1.80 a pint.
Although relatively unknown this is my Pick of the Sams pubs I York, it is very nicely decorated and the fires are a great touch in winter. In summer there is also a great outside seating arer near the river to soak up the sun, definitely worth a visit.

Located just up from the river walkway and set amongst a row of terraced houses. This is a typical sam smiths pub made up of 3 rooms. Usual sam smiths selection and cheap prices.

The Welligton is on a side street off the main road and it is quite hard to see untill you get quite near to the pub.
This is a Samuel Smiths tied house so it has their very cheap and excellent old brewery bitter on handpump.
It is unaltered inside with three different rooms and i was quite happy having a drink here.
