An attractive rendered brick building on the village green. Inside there’s an L shaped room and matching counter. Very traditional in decor with carpet, flags and bare boards, a fair number of beams from elsewhere. It didn’t say they came from one of Admiral Collingwood’s ships but the marketing department missed a trick there, there are a few pictures of the Admiral of course. The counters are handsome with carved wood and brass panels, three pulls are located on the rear side face, near the dartboard and big screen. Beers today: Taylor’s Boltmaker, Hobgoblin and Black Sheep Best, the Boltmaker was in excellent condition.

An attractive old building to the side of the village green. The L-shaped interior has lots of wood panelling and a beamed ceiling, possibly decorative rather than structural and sadly a bit spoilt by some extraneous fairy lights. The front part is a tidy tabled area while the rear, clearly once the public bar, has a dartboard and large TV screen. There is a patio garden and some outbuildings to the rear. Draught ales were Pedigree, 61 Deep and Doom - condition seemed good if a little cold. Food relatively simple but good, especially the Chicken Parmo (for Middlesbrough expats). All in all a proper and acceptable pub.
