A delightful and attractive village boozer with traditional brick exterior and comfortable interior with a large original fireplace opposite the central bar. Beers are from the Marstons stable: Jennings Cockerhoop and Best and Ringwood Boodogle and Best. The Cockerhoop was excellent and could easily tempt the unwary into a session. The Blacksmiths has a warm family atmosphere and a friendly welcome. Well worth a visit.

This is the real boozer in the village.Attractive brick exterior with foliage adorning it,there is a south facing front garden with benches which is a good suntrap. On entering ,initially to the left and right are areas set up for eating, and food is widely available most days. The bar is in the centre of the pub to the left side with a drinking area opposite while to the rear is a raised section used on our visit as a seating area infront of a large pull down screen for the England v Slovenia match.Out the back is an extensive courtyard ,also set up with a TV and there was a small screen TV opposite the bar.A Marstons tied house with four handpumps dispensing Jennings Cocker Hoop,Ringwood Boondoggle and Best Bitter all in very good nick.Deservedly popular with the locals, yet friendly for visitors and suitable for families I am not sure why this pub has been overlooked for a GBG entry ,when the nearby gastro pub is included.I liked the atmosphere and would most certainly visit again.
