This is a former Tetleys pub right on the edge of the built up area and up a fairly steep hill. Entering through the front door there is a large tiled area around the bar, with seating against the walls. The bar is plain with glass panels above, and extends back through the building to a further room that is up several steps. Another door leads out from here to the raised garden and patio which is also accessible from the car park at the side.

There are a couple of hand pumps at the front of the bar, one with pump clip turned around on my visit, the other with Tetleys Bitter. On the bar in the back room were three more hand pumps, again one was turned around but the others had Bombardier and Old Rosie cider. My Tetleys was OK, and it was quite pleasant here. There were a few locals stood around the bar and playing songs on the juke box, while the TV was showing football with the sound off.

On the walls were various pictures including photos of local scenes and people, and a couple of small paintings of trams. Surely they didn't come out this far?

The Rose and Crown is a decent looking stone built pub that is near the top of a short steep hill off the main road.
Once inside here the pub has been opened out but has different drinking areas this pub has a cosy feel to it with beams and horse brasses on the walls.
There were two real ales on here i had a drink of Tetley bitter which was very nice the other beer was GK IPA.
I quite liked this pub and would have happily settled in for the afternoon.
