As described by Alan, this is a pleasant and comfortable pub to have a drink in, though it does depend on diners because of its position away from the main population centre of Chapeltown. The three hand pumps on the occasion of my visit were serving Bradfield Farmers Blonde, GK Abbot and Abbeydale Deception. I went for the Abbot even though I find it a little on the strong side when I'm doing a crawl, and this was a well kept beer with a hint of its former greatness - it's one of those beers that doesn't benefit from the use of the now almost ubiquitous swan neck and tight sparkler. This was one of the first beers I drank when I discovered real ale in the 1970s and I was used to drinking it in Hertfordshire where it was poured from an open spout, but if you ask for the sparkler to be removed these days the bar staff still pour it into the bottom of the glass using the swan neck instead of letting it fall into the glass to generate its own head, and I'm afraid I've finally given up trying to explain.

The Norfolk Arms is a roadside pub that is at the top of a steepish hill from the middle of Chapletown.
Once inside the front bar area was L shaped and was carpeted with comfy bench seating and chairs, this room extended to the rear of the pub which went up one step to the main dining area, this area was larger than the bar drinking area was, both the dining area and front bar were fairly busy with a mix of diners and drinkers, there was some decent music playing from the Smiths and the like.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Bradfield Farmers Blonde and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Kelham King of the Rocket Men and Gk Abbot.
I thought this pub would be a bit too food orientated but i found it to be a decent pub to have a drink in.
