Old Boots left this review about The Rock

A very traditional nice old pub, much like stepping back in time other than the mixer desk lurking by the gents and music from and Alexa. It retains a public/ lounge layout with no connecting door except in the entrance vestibule. Nobody in the dark public bar so I sat in the comfortable, carpeted lounge on a neatly upholstered banquet bench with my beer resting on a Britannia table, the other few discerning punters were sat on stools or wheel back chairs. Old photos and novelty china teapots make up the decor. Two pulls in the lounge but sadly one unclipped the other with a Leeds brewery clip reversed, three blank in the public. Music was playing and it was classic 60s/70/s stuff as noted by Mr Winfield. Usual keg choice on two T-Bars. Cash only. In spite of the lack of cask I liked it as a pub, it’s very close to the Acorn and a much better pub.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Rock

The Rock is a white painted pub that has got a long frontage, the pub still sports the old John Smiths signs which is nice to see.
Once inside there is an L shaped lounge to the left, the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and small stools, there is a smaller bar room to the right which is oblong shaped, this room was empty,so i had a drink in the lounge.
There was one real ale on the bar which was Leeds Pale, this was a decent drink.
Background music was playing which was old type.
