A pub in the rundown section of Kirkgate and much as you might expect inside. Comprising one long room on two floor levels, the short front section is furnished with blue buttoned leather benches and traditional tables. It has a neat but unexceptional tiled floor and there are some decent pictures of old Leeds. A short flight of steps leads up to a drinking area with the counter, all standard kegs on three T bars although there are two unused handpulls. A small TV is the only décor but at the back are more blue buttoned leather benches and traditional tables, as well as a big screen. Fairly quiet on a saturday evening when I called in, with just a few auld lads watching sport and a younger couple having a quiet drink.

The Regent still has its Tetley signs outside.
Once inside this pub it is quite narrow and goes back a long way so there is usually somewhere to sit but sadly there are no real ales in here anymore with the bitter being Tetley smooth so i had a Guinness which was ok.
