Situated opposite the Royal Grammar School in Worcester, this pub looks quite promising from the outside. Inside is a huge disappointment. It has the feel of a cocktail bar, with lots of garish decorations, loud music and TV screens. The TV screens were showing music, but not the same music as on the speakers.
We arrived to find just the barmaid and 2 other customers, who were both out the front smoking. A few did arrive just before we left. I sense this is more of a late night place.
HPA & Rocking Rudolph were the real ales. I doubt they would tempt me back.

We were looking forward to visiting this pub to get a decent pint of Hook Norton beer. To our disappointment, the beer had a smell of bleach to it, maybe from how the glasses are stored, picking up fumes from the floor perhaps. The barman seemed to be there to kill a few hours and didn't seem interested in the customers. The majority of the customers here were drinking keg lager. Also, the toilets were filthy. This pub really needs a good sorting out.

This is a terraced Hook Norton pub with a rear patio area. This Victorian looking pub has a white painted brick upper and red lower frontage, and has a couple of entrances with pediments, with pillasters and a side coach entrance. The upper storey has a row of sash windows.
The interior has been altered to hav a single L-shaped room. The decor is also a little modern, with peppermint green walls and a white ceiling (even painting over the beams), as well as a tile floor. There is nothing really in the way of pictures, or ephemera, other than a pot plant and a stone fireplace. The furniture is a straight mix of tables and chairs, with some stools. There is a TV, which had the cricket on and the background music was supplied via the jukebox at a decent level. The service was really friendly and there were a few locals in at our visit.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Old Hookey, Hookey Gold and a decent Hookey Bitter on handpull
I really enjoyed my stp off here and would happily return. A touch more modern than i would like, but the beer and friendly service more than compensated. Try it!
