Now reverted to its original name and fully refurbished to a high standard the Black Boy has gone a bit upmarket. 5 hand pulls although 2 had just gone. Still a decent choice of 3 ales in good condition.

This may have been a nice pub 15 years back but it ain't now. A bit smelly and quite battered in places - I was hoping that they were mid-way through renovation but the plaster splats on the carpet and general air of unkemptness made me wonder (and seeing the review below as well…). A load of old boys playing dominoes in a somewhat frenetic manner belying their years. Was advised that ‘next door’ had the football on; ‘next door’ in this case being an external barn room done up like a nightclub. Three pumps with two ales, Worcester Way (musty undertones) and Dogs Bollocks. Strange place all round.

Oggwyn Great left this review about Black Boy Hotel

Pub is pretty well described in the previous reviews , its cosy if a little tatty around the edges , the room to the right of the entrance has now been converted to an office , the small bar is to the left and another room further round , there is a large function room in one of the out building , beers were the usual taps plus four real ales , Enville Ale , Otter , Abbot and Saddlers JPA which was in decent nick .
It was pretty busy on my visit , service was good and the locals friendly , worth a visit
