Heritage side street hotel bar. Snug room to the right very nice, floor to ceiling wood panelling all very appealing bar the rumblings underfoot from the cellar cooling equipment. Central lobby bar also nicely done. To the rear there is a dining room and a sun-rap courtyard patio replete with little bronze cannons. Daily papers available. Two Butcombe ales, Bitter (good) and Gold (appalling, exchanged eventually when a new barrel was tapped). Worth it for the interior, though the beer might be a gamble. But I could easily have stayed all afternoon once I had a decent pint in my hands.
