The New Inn is an L shaped Arkells pub that was reasonably busy with a local crowd when I visited on a recent Thursday night. I counted five hand pumps, one was unused and the one badged with Moonlight was off which left three 3B pumps. Reasonably priced pub grub is available during the day.
Two pool tables are located around to the right of the bar and two dartboards are located to the left. Plasma screens are located throughout for showing live sports. A match had just finished before my visit so the screens were muted and some Dire Straits was playing from the jukebox. Live music was advertised for a night in May so I guess live music is not a regular thing.
Out the back is a large car park and to the left of the pub is a concreted beer garden with plenty of picnic tables. There is also a raised covered decked area that supports a pool table and a couple of dartboards – Outside pool and darts is a new one to me!
I found the service from the governor to be extremely friendly, as was the atmosphere throughout the pub. If I lived in the area this would be my local boozer.

Next door to a Wetherspoons, this pub clearly makes its difference known by advertising itself as a sports pub, so there are several screens dotted around its staple-shaped interior, along with a plethora of football shirts tacked to the ceiling throughout. Plenty of seating throughout, with some nicely-done upholstered bench seats along the periphery which fit and also snake into the bay windows on a couple of sides. One ale on - Arkells 3B at £3.10 for a pint and was in good shape. Muzak in the background was a little on the loud side and included Eminem (one of the angrier ones), some speed garage and some unidentifiable Drum & Bass track. The beer was good, the price decent in this day and age, the barmaid friendly and the interior clean and tidy, but there's a little too much to make it different to the next-door Dockle. Going from drinking a beer in silence, to drinking a beer to an overloud Radio 1Xtra soundtrack is no happy medium.

The New Inn is a small pub that is fairly close to the Rover car plant.
Once inside this pub was very comfortable and it is the sort of pub i really like going in,this is an Arkells tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Arkels 3B and this was a really nice drink the other beer was Arkells 2B.
I was quite happy in here and did'nt want to leave.
