A nice tidy place which still retains separate areas and has the black beamed ceiling look, also with a nice shade of red on the walls and a herringbone brick bar front. Four pumps, all on - Doom Bar, Sheps Spitfire, Tim Taylor Landlord, Box Steam Tunnel Vision. The latter was trading at £2.50 a pint and in good nick, served up by a friendly guvnor. Check out the late 9th century crown on display, which was discovered within the pub's walls. Enjoyable place and only a few yards from the Blue Boar- it’s worth doing both of these. 7.5
