E TA left this review about Harp & Crown Inn

A large roadside village pub which has been recently renovated to form a public bar one side and restaurant the other.  Unusually, it does both very well.  The food is more gastro than resto, though it wasn’t as expensive as it might have been.  It was very full though, as it’s a popular venue for diners.   We chose to move into the bar and were greeted warmly by the locals, which included some robust banter, but was in the right spirit.  There was a TV showing live sports, and this was indeed the focus of the conversation.  Dogs abounded, and there was clearly a strong local flavour here.  The furniture and décor were minimalist, and it was a comfortable and pleasant place to spend a few hours.  Two ales on – New Bristol Brewery’s The Joy Of Sesh and Kettlesmith’s Timeline, both in excellent condition.  I really liked it here and shall certainly be back next time I’m in the area.
