An Admiral Taverns pub, that is very well run. The staff on our visit were very friendly and chatty, and their beers were very well kept. This is a traditional style pub, which hosts a grandmother clock and upright piano in the main bar area. The smaller lounge on the left of entrance was very homely and comfortable, with a woodburning stove at one end, which was lit. Six pumps, with three regular and three guest ales, which were Theakstons Old Perculier, TT Landlord, Robby's Dark Raven, Jennings Cumberland, Adnams Ghostship and Arkells Spiced Pumpkin ale. I went for the Adnams Ghostship, which was as good as drinking it in Suffolk.

Completely refurbished after the 2015 floods in sympathetic old pub style. The high water mark from the floods is marked on the wall at head height. Friendly staff and 5 real ales including Cumberland, Golden sheep, dizzy blond. Beers were all good, but prices were a little higher than at some other pubs in Hebden Bridge. however their pie, mash, peas and a pint for £7.00 ( before 7pm) is a bargain.
Canned music seemed a little out of place, There is a piano, and they have jamming nights on Wednesday.

The Albert is a stone built pub and the first pub i came across on my walk from the train station in the rain,so i was well pleased to get into a nice warm pub.
Once inside the bar faces in a single irregular shaped room, which is divided into different areas, the floor is part bare boarded and tiled, the seating is comfy bench type and small stools and normal tables and chairs.
There was a good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Black Sheep bitter which went down very well after a long journey up here, the other beers noted Taylor Landlord,Theakston Old Peculiar,Jennings Cumberland, plus a couple more i failed to read my notes of.
The service seemed very friendly even though i was not a local,so probably depends how you come across to them.
I found this to be a very comfortable to have a drink in.
