External signage would have it as Ferring but it is in High Street, Tarring. (Ferring and Tarring adjoin)

Visited this pub on Sunday 27th September and was very disappointed. Expected it to be quiet of course but having five real ale taps with only one working was a shambles. Have been watching this pub over the past year, three different landlords and it is certainly slipping away. Two other pubs within 500 yards, both busy.

This should be a really good pub, but the beers are a little stale. I suspect there is not enough turnover and they hang around a bit. Also they taste like the pump cleaning regime leaves something to be desired. Having said that it is drinkable sometimes. The décor though is a real miss-mash of different styles and resembles a waiting room. Give it a miss.
