Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Red Lion

Interesting brick building beside the River Weaver Navigation, and well refurbished recently to leave an (almost) island bar with several distinct seating / dining areas and smaller rooms. Also has a side terrace beside the canalised watercourse. Unfortunately, the beer choice seems to have regressed, with just Doom Bar, Landlord (£4.00) and a re-badged 'Lions Road from who-knows-where (and the staff certainly didn't) via Punch.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Red Lion

Situated on the banks of the River Weaver, there are moorings for boats and a large exterior beer terrace for drinking punters. The building itself is in Victorian brick but the three front bay windows give it a gracious feel.Inside is a very pleasant surprise with an island bar serving three distinct areas, with a side lounge with door to the patio,a rear dining type area with dining style long tables ,while to the front there is a charming small snug with it's own bar access and fireplace with a larger front snug on two levels on the otherside of the entrance corridor. The temptation to open out the interior has been resisted, which is great.
Another feature is the art on the walls, with portraints by the female owner of the pub all very well done.Everywhere you look there are pleasing internal decorations,it's an individuals vision for a pub and a million miles from pubco uniformity.
The same goes for the ale selection now this pub is free of tie.Titanic Plum Porter,Weetwood Southern Cross and Rat White Rat in fabulous condition is a terrific 3 pump selection, while two real ciders were offered from side handpumps.Craft keg also on offer but the White Rat was so good ,Siren Broken Dream Breakfast Stout didn't get a look in.
Live music is a regular here,on Sundays there is a blues open mic and all the artists were proper musicians.
This pub in this guise must be a shoe in for the next GBG,it was so good that this was our first and last port of call in Winsford.Don't miss out if in the area.

Oggwyn Great left this review about The Red Lion

Friendly pub on a large traffic island , quite traditional inside with several distinct areas served by the central bar , pretty quiet on a Wednesday afternoon , service was friendly , 4 handpulls with 3 on during my visit but for some unfathonable reason i had a pint of keg Blue Moon .
I liked it here worth a longer visit .
