The Queens Head sits behind a few picnic tables that separate it from the A281 (Queen Street). A poster on the pub sign informs readers that accommodation is available and kitchen opening times are given as: Monday to Wednesday 18:00 – 21:00, Thursday 12:00 – 14:00 & 18:00 – 21:00, Friday 12:00 – 14:00 & a workers buffet (whatever that is) from 17:30, Saturday 12:00 – 16:00 and the popular Sunday roasts are available 12:00 – 17:00. The Sunday roasts are priced from £9.45 and the pub advises booking a table to avoid disappointment.
Inside the pub the forward facing bar is flanked by seating areas that both house a log fire and television for showing Sky Sports. Steps lead up to a games area in the left rear of the pub where there are two pool tables a dartboard and more flat screen televisions. During my visit on Saturday afternoon there was some background music playing and I noted that live music was advertised for later in the evening.
This is a hall & Woodhouse pub so it wasn’t surprising to see three hand pumps drawing Badger, Tanglefoot and Sussex. A standard draught range was also available and there were specials on double shots. I found the service to be friendly, but some of the locals looked like they take no prisoners. I think that I will walk past when I next find myself in the area.

This is a large rambling pub knocked through into one space yet effectively remaining as three distinct areas. To the right on entering there is a dining area, the bar is the larger L-shaped middle bit, then it is up a few steps to a games area at the rear with a pair of pool tables, a dartboard and gaming machines. Two TVs, both were off. Wood floors, plenty of sofas and armchairs as well as regular style seating, there is a brick fireplace with some token imported old timbers in front. The overall feel is that of a modern characterless rather bland space. There were around ten or so clearly regulars gathered around the bar area and a couple of lads playing pool on a rainy Bank Holiday afternoon, no one was making use of the extensive seating.
Horsham's ubiquitous choice of Hall & Woodhouse beers, Badger, Sussex, Tanglefoot and one unclipped. Food clearly is served hence the dining area but there was no sign of any.
I ended up in here after getting out of the rain having traipsed uphill out of town to find that The Tanners doesn't open until 6pm in the week (and not at all on Sundays) which was a disappointment.
One thing that caught my eye, they have something called "Ruby Thursday" which is £1 to enter. Seemingly for that you get free pool and free curry! How that pays I do not know. Additionally there is a quiz night and occasional karaoke. Accommodation available with B&B.
