Largish corner boozer off the main drag, between the High Street and the beach which is a little too light and bright internally. Light bare boards, light F&B paint scheme throughout, and an interior that looks like it had subdivisions in a previous life. Three national ales on: Sharp's Doom Bar Fuller's London Pride and a decent Timothy Taylor Landlord (NBSS 3) at £2.15 a half, served by a friendly barmaid (landlady?). At least three screens showing an England Test match plus a middle-aged male clientele only meant this wasn't quite a Alan Winfield hardcore visit.

The Fishermans Joy has now reopened and under new management!!
After extensive refurbishment works following the fire it is now the place to be in Selsey for a beer with your pals or a meal with your girlfriend.
Food is getting great reviews as is the real ale. In the summer the large garden will be very busy.
Pop in and see for yourself.

Update 28 Jan 2010 - reported on BBC South that pub caught fire yesterday, from the pictures it looked fairly bad, flames from windows etc
PS 29 Jan 2010 - Fire now reported as "suspicious" and police investigating
3 Nov 2009 A bit sad and tired looking exterior, currently up for sale
