Pretty standard foody pub in the Vintage Inn chain. Nice enough and very friendly service. Doom Bar and Sunbeam on when we called in along with a couple of unused hand pull's. The Sunbeam (£4 a pint) was very good. Worth calling in for one.

A nice detached Georgian looking Vintage Inns multi-building pub/eatery, with front and rear patio areas. The pub is in cream render with coffee coulred window frames. There is a wooden covered entrance.

The interior is an L-shaped room, which in typical Vintage Inn style is divided up into diferent areas, al of which are still generally dining. The decor is white, red, coffee wood panel and undressed brick with a red tile floor and white and wood beam ceiling. There is a nice exposed brick fireplace and exposed support beams. Again, in true Vintage style, there is a plethora of pictures, prints and other ephemera dotted all over the place to give the historic feel. We didn't eat here, so can't comment on the food, but having eaten at Vintage before i wouldn't hesitate to do so again. There is no TV and there is no music. The service was friendly and the place was busy with a mixed clientele of diners.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Peroni. On handpull there was Bombardier, Flying Dutchman, Doombar and a decent Enville Ale.

I completely endorse the views of the Monster below. Vintage Inns are ideal for those that don't like the usual gastro-pub style, or vase ridden Ember Inns. The traditional look is very much for people like me. I am more than happy to eat in them, or just stop off for a real ale.

This traditional country pub is owned by Vintage Inns and the building dates back to the early 1700’s. The interior is open plan and has many original features such as rough cut untreated wooden beams and a small inglenook fire place in the public bar. When you enter through the front door the small bar area and long counter are off to the right, either side of the bar are two small areas set out for dining, both with fire places and various paintings on the walls. At the back of the building on the left is a further dining area that is slightly larger, this has a door leading out on to a large patio area.

Regular ales are Wells Bombardier, Sharp’s Doom Bar and Caledonian Deuchars IPA with currently no changing guests (Cask Marque). I considered all three to be in good condition on my visit.

A very nice pub that’s well worth a visit, the Vintage Inns group seem to take great care when refurbishing the traditional country pubs that they tend to buy, and therefore this building has been sensitively decorated. It is very food orientated with only a small area provided for drinkers, but the quality of the food is very high and the prices are not too steep in my opinion. I would certainly recommend The Vine for a family meal or special occasion.
