Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Rainbow Inn

Popular village pub with all the usual amenities: food offers, pool table, dartboard, TV sport, regular music and other events. Quite modern inside, with several seating / dining areas in an overall 'L' shape, plus a good number of wooden benches out on the front patio. Three of four handpumps in use, dispensing Abbot, Bombardier and Wye Valley HPA (£3.40).

This is a small one room locals pub built around the 60’/70’s that is owned by Punch Taverns, after walking through the patio area at the front you enter the single room via double doors, directly ahead and against the back wall is a small pine wood bar counter, the décor is modern with pastel colour walls and mock traditional wooden pillars dotted around. On the left of the entrance is a small area with comfy sofas and a flat screen TV that was showing sport during my visit. There is a modest menu of freshly prepared food, some of which is inspired by Eastern European cuisine as I believe the landlord is Polish. There is a door at the back of the room which leads to the car park behind the pub.

Regular ale is Enville Ale with a single changing guest beer from Punch Taverns national portfolio which on my visit was Jennings Cumberland Ale. Also Highgate Dark Mild was on keg which was a nice surprise as it’s pretty rare on this side of Wolverhampton. I had a half of all three and they were very good (Cask Marque). I’ve been too busy to post this review straight after my visit so it looks like I may have been in the same week Soup Dragon popped in as the guest ale was the same. Typical, no reviews for ages then two come along at once!

This is a nice pub with friendly regulars, there was a group of about six middle aged men who all came in separately but stood together and the staff knew them all, after a while one of them fetched a trumpet from his car which he played while the others sang! (None of them appeared to be drunk at the time!) Some might find this off-putting but I felt that it created a fun and friendly atmosphere and it certainly made me smile. I would be happy to return again.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Rainbow Inn

A detached modern looking pub, with some exterior wood panel, high pitched roof and dormer windows, in yellow render and green paintwork. Has a patio area at the front

The interior is open plan with most space given over to foody tables, though there is a comfy seat area in the corner, where there is a TV for the footy - though Wimbledon was on when i visited. The decor is light - a mix of green, white, orange and wood panel with plenty of old photos of Coven and prints on the walls. The service was good, the clientele mixed and there was no background music.

Beer; keg stuff, with decent Highgate MILD. On handpull there was Jennings Cumberland Ale and Enville Ale, though the Enville wasn't on - hence the MILD.

I had a nice cycle out to this village pub and enjoyed my pint - i can see myself popping back more than happily
