Blue Scrumpy left this review about Queens Arms

Kazbar (the former Queen's Arms) lies in a pretty God-forsaken area. It may be a little more lively during the week, but on a cold winter weekend evening, I wasn't expecting to find an open pub in an area of derelict buildings and warehouses. With a few dodgy-looking characters walking around who knows where, this pub itself derelict. The exterior is painted in a manor that looked like graffiti from a distance. But as I got nearer, it became clear that there was an open door.

Entering the premises was one of those moments where I really hadn't got a clue what to expect inside. I needn't have worried. The welcome from the barmaid was really warm and whilst there is no real ale, there are keg beers and a wide range of spirits. The draft choice was Carling, Carling Premier, Carling Black Fruit, Coors, Madri, Kingfisher, Aspalls, ABK Hell & Guinness.

Most of the customers were of Indian descent and menus on the tables clearly displayed Indian-inspired food. The more I looked at it, the more I was tempted to try something. So I ordered a Mixed Warp (as spelt on the menu). It arrived quickly and was a very spicy affair that made my eyes water somewhat. But it was delicious and I had no repercussions the next day.

The Kazbar was a pub that I was really wary of initially. But I really warmed to this place. It actually has some wonderful eclectic decoration both inside and out, the service was fine, the welcome warm, the customers were humorous and the food was hot. Don't come here for the beer, come here for more of an experience.

Soup Dragon left this review about Queens Arms

This is a detached cottage style pub, in the middle of an industrial area. It is looking a little tired now, in its peeling cream render, with some black beams on the frontage. The interior is a single room with a small island bar in the middle that just about accommodates four taps; two lager, a bitter and a cider. The decor is a grey colour, with some wallpaper that looks like colour bricks or something, which is a bit bizarre. The TV had a music channel on and there was nothing else on the walls. The pool table and one corner were taken up with a musci system. The service was OK, a few locals were in and i simply had a shandy. There isnt really anything positive i can say about this place, it really is one for the locals.
