Soup Dragon left this review about Horns of Boningale

A neat looking, what looks like a late 18th, early 19th century, detached undressed brick pub/eatery, with low level modern extension for the dining room. Also has a patio area.

The interior has a small bar to the left of the main entrance, which is in white and wood beam and has a tiled floor. There are settles to sit on and prints of horses on the walls. A TV was showing Sky Sports News and there was a dart board. Opposite this, in an open plan area by the bar there was a small comfy chair lounge by the big brick fireplace feature; also in white. Going past the bar there is a lounge/dining area, again in white with general prints on the walls and comprising of general tables and chairs. A corridor leads you into the extension where there is a dining room in white and wood panel, with a central fireplace feature. All in all it seems to have something for every taste - i of course headed straight to the traditional bit! The service was fine, the clientele mixed, though a couple of the maturer fellas had a bust-up in our room - though it ended with hand-shaking. Food is a main concern of this place, but i didn't eat so can't comment on that.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Peroni. There was a good choice of so-so Banks's MILD, as well as the untried Jennings Cocker-hoop, Brakspear Gold and Hooray Henley on hhandpull.

Whilst the beer wasn't the best on my visit, i was a lot happier visiting than i thought i would be, as clearly this place makes provision for the drinker as well as the diner. Very much worth a visit.
